摘要: The laminin-binding alpha7beta1 integrin receptor is expressed at high levels by skeletal and cardiac muscles certain melanocytic cells. We have assessed the potential role of alpha7A/B isoforms in mediating cell adhesion motility determined laminin isoform specificity this integrin. When MCF-7 breast carcinoma cells, normally nonadherent to 1, were stably transfected with cDNA for mouse alpha7, they adhered efficiency migrated on 1 substrates. Function-perturbing monoclonal antibodies generated alpha7 subunit blocked both migration transfectants Additional studies revealed that binds well a mixture 2 4 but not 5. Importantly, was capable promoting 2/4 However, cells either alpha7A or alpha7B showed no significant differences Although alternatively spliced cytoplasmic variants remains unknown, results establish mediates adhesive activities restricted number isoforms.
