摘要: Objective The aim of this in vitro study was to assess the antimicrobial properties newly formulated toothpastes (four for adults and two kids/babies) a mouthrinse. Materials Methods Newly six different one mouthrinse single brand commercially available five three were investigated their activity against oral pathogens, Streptococcus mutans Candida albicans, by agar well diffusion assay. After incubation, inhibition zone diameters measured millimeters statistical analyses performed. Results All experimental adult exhibited good S. C. albicans except toothpaste D. Experimental B highest antibacterial mutans. kids showed best when kids’ compared. None tested kids/babies effects albicans. Among tested, Sensodyne results. significantly lower then Sensodyne, Eludril, chlorhexidine Conclusion Although formulations revealed results terms some specific microorganisms, further studies involving more bacterial species or analyzing quality efficacy these products other vivo tests are needed.
