摘要: Abstract The results of serum neutralization tests more than 3000 sera from 43 species African wildlife indicate infection with bovid herpes virus 1 is widespread and prevalent in southern Africa. Antibody was demonstrated 14 species, including 5 not previously reported. Highest titres were recorded water associated viz. waterbuck, reedbuck, hippopotamus buffalo. Buffalo probably play an important role the maintenance BHV 1. A very high proportion all adult buffalo seven countries sampled had antibody. prevalence less lower younger age groups. survey one population over years suggests continuous.
