A review of wave climate and prediction along the Spanish Mediterranean coast

摘要: Abstract. This paper reviews the characterization of wave storms along Spanish/Catalan Mediterranean coast. It considers "physical" and "statistical" description parameters how they are affected by prevailing meteo patterns sharp gradients in orography bathymetry. The available field data numerically simulated fields discussed from this perspective. resulting limits accuracy predictability illustrated with specific examples. allows deriving some conclusions for both short-term operational predictions a long-term climatic assessment.
