摘要: Department of Community Dentistry, Hebrew University-Hadassah School ofDental Medicine, Jerusalem, IsraelOBJECTIVES: To evaluate the impact health-relatedbehaviors and dental attendance on oral health-relatedquality life (OHRQoL).METHODS: One hundred ninety-two individualspresenting for treatment were included in across-sectional survey using a self-administered ques-tionnaire that assessed demographics, smoking andalcohol consumption, physical activity habits, dentalattendance, pain utilizing numeric ratingscale (NRS). Results Oral Health Impact Profile(OHIP)-14 questionnaire considered as depen-dent variable. A conceptual hierarchical data analysismodel from distal to proximal determinants themedian OHIP-14 total score was adopted.RESULTS: Analysis domains totalscore revealed several significant protector characteris-tics: younger age, academic education, no alcohol con-sumption, regular activity, fewer packyears, routine attendance, lower NRS scores.Routine related NRSscores (P < 0.001) which turn associated withlower scores = 0.018). Better 0.039) attendance(P 0.029) also correlated directly with OHIP-14scores.CONCLUSIONS: health-related behaviors androutine have protective effect onOHRQoL. Clinicians should assess these dur-ing diagnostic workups.
