摘要: The role of allogeneic leukocytes in causing febrile nonhemolytic transfusion (FNHTR) reactions has been known since the mid-1950s. Recent data suggests plausible mechanisms which pro-inflammatory cytokines (IL-lα, IL-1β, IL-6 and TNF-α) mediate symptom complex this reaction to blood transfusion. Furthermore, source these may be host reacting or donor producing vitro during storage vivo post Leukodepletion post-storage, reduces occurrence FNHTRs by former mechanism pre-storage leukodepletion should effective prevent either mechanism. Formal comparisons leukodepleted cellular products versus post-storage have not yet performed.
