摘要: Abstract The aims of this paper are three-fold: 1. To analyse the development and stability in vegetative traits such as leaf shape, growth pigmentation patterns three different morphotypes (defined by shape pigmentation) Ledebouria revoluta complex. 2. discuss putative function mottling/variegation. 3. plasticity these relation to taxonomy species delimitation within Clones were analysed a cultivation experiment with two nitrogen levels (N1 N2), (A, B & C) light (L1 L2). Anthocyanins found hypodermal cells, particularly proximal (i.e. young) parts leaf. red faded out distal more mature) Furthermore, older, outer leaves had than younger, inner leaves. Increased availability no effect on pigmentation. Some plants developed significantly adaxially at high intensities, whereas abaxial was unaffected intensity. sides therefore seems be regulated independently may accordingly serve functions for plants. Adaxial (mainly form mottling, mainly spots) photoprotection, variegation, bands) possibly aposematic. In field degree intrapopulational variation observed. This might due local habitat heterogeneity gene flow or frequency dependent selection. Characters relevant (leaf pattern) only changed limited extent, suggesting that genetically based. easily recognized unrelated treatments. Whether formal taxonomic status is justified will need plant material genetic data cannot decided based study.
