Influence of solute and hydrogen ion concentration on the water relations of some xerophilic fungi.

摘要: Germination and growth of six xerophilic fungi, Aspergillus flavus, ochraceus, Eurotium chevalieri, Chrysosphorium fastidium, Wallemia sebi Xeromyces bisporus were examined on media a wide range water activities (aw). The influence three solutes, NaCl, glycerol glucose/fructose mixture, was studied at pH 4-0 6-5 using plate-slide technique. times rates affected by solute type, but the less marked. Except for sebi, fungi grew most strongly partially or completely inhibited NaCl. results showed that universal isolation medium could be based not NaCl as aw-limiting solute.
