摘要: PURPOSEThis retrospective analysis was performed to evaluate critically the morbidity and mortality of splenectomy in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia determine probability hematologic response. Further, using a case/control format based on multivariate analysis-derived predictors survival, we evaluated influence survival.PATIENTS AND METHODSBetween 1971 1993, 55 underwent splenectomy. They were compared fludarabine-treated who had been matched for age, serum albumin level, sex, hemoglobin Rai stage, number prior therapies, time from diagnosis.RESULTSIn perioperative period, blood-product usage modest, common morbidities limited minor infections 18% pneumonia/atelectasis 25%.
