摘要: For a broad range of circumstances, we show that reliable bioconcentration factor (BCF) estimates can be made using study design is based on standard regulatory guideline test procedures but uses significantly fewer animals and resources. This minimized involves taking tissue samples only twice during 14-d depuration period. The utility the was first assessed by resampling data from series tests calculating BCF would have been obtained if had performed design. Data 25 curves giving ranging approximately 0.3 to over 20,000 were used. correlation log with simulated r2 = 0.99, slope regression line 0.96. robustness random variation in measurement chemicals fish water (coefficients concentrations up 25%) evaluated Monte Carlo simulations. half-lives less than length period, median simulations always within 7% true BCF. ratio 95th 5th percentile or equal 3.7. Furthermore, span 15% wider full test, even though animal use analytical effort markedly reduced.
