摘要: Study Design. Normal, sham, and groups of chickens subjected to pinealectomy from which serum melatonin levels were measured correlated with scoliosis development in a period 5 weeks. Objectives. To measure control correlate findings scoliosis. Background Data. In previous study by others, developed 100% pinealectomy, found be reduced. Previous results the authors showed developing only approximately 55% that underwent pinealectomy. Methods. Young Control consisted sham operation normal groups. Radiographs blood samples taken at weekly intervals monitor using radioimmunoassay techniques. Results. Scoliosis 52% but all had low no circadian rhythm. The two maintained rhythms. Conclusions. Pinealectomy young reduces eliminates It can also produce scoliosis, are poor predictor
