摘要: Intermittent stimulation of the vagus nerve in four patients resulted complete seizure control two, a 40% reduction frequency one, and no change other. Side effects (hoarseness, sensation neck, hiccups) were transient occurred concomitantly with stimulation. All tolerated increasing parameters well. The results, however, are inconclusive because brief duration (6-12 months) follow-up. Vagal represents novel approach for who have intractable epilepsy, but additional studies needed to clarify efficacy safety procedure define selection criteria patients.
