摘要: Vagus nerve stimulation (VNS) therapy for the treatment of intractable epilepsy is a relatively new form treatment. However, not all persons with are suitable VNS therapy. Suitability procedure determined by type seizure disorder, previous response to anticonvulsant medication, health status, compliance day-to-day use, and likely benefits quality life. should be recommended after failure three or four adequate trials drugs in diagnosed partial generalized epilepsy. A number research studies have now been published demonstrating efficacy both nonintellectually disabled population intellectual disabilities. It has comparable antiepileptic drugs, safe, well tolerated, manageable. The rate adverse effects those pharmaceutical treatments relate surgical implantation device, stimulation-related, serious events such as bradycardia asystole. Further multicenter specifically disabilities recommended.
