摘要: Non-O1 Vibrio cholerae strains have been reported as a causative agent of diarrhea throughout the world. We recently that non-O1 V. cause in human volunteers. In this study we evaluated virulence three Caco-2 cell adherence assay by light and electron microscopy. A-5 is an environmental isolate which failed to colonized volunteers did not diarrhea. It exhibited low numbers organisms adherent cells, leaving microvilli intact. Strain 2076-79, isolated from patient with diarrhea, without producing disease. adhered cells moderate any damage microvilli. NRT36S, clinical isolate, produced significant This strain very large caused brush borders. Membrane-bound bacteria were also seen within cytoplasm these cells. Scanning microscopy confirmed generalized NRT36S The appear compete each other for binding sites on when assays conducted at 4 degrees C. Our results A-5, correlate well observations volunteer studies, suggesting provide appropriate vitro system further investigation pathogenesis gastroenteritis.
