摘要: The present investigation aims at defining the functional status of several gastric cancer cell lines in order to assess their usefulness as adequate cellular models study regulation digestive functions. Compared AGS, Hs746t and KATO-III cells, NCI-N87 exhibited an unique differentiation status. They formed coherent monolayers expressing E-cadherin ZO-1 junctional proteins; integrity epithelial morphology were maintained post-confluency for up 10 days. All synthesized PAS-reactive (mucous-type) glycoconjugates. However, only cells expressed MUC6 glycoprotein suggesting a mucopeptic phenotype. Immunostaining, enzymatic assays, Western blotting Reverse Transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) revealed that all contained varying levels pepsinogen (Pg5) human lipase (HGL). Only able express zymogens higher levels, granule-like structures, efficiently secrete both HGL Pg5. addition epidermal growth factor (EGF) post-confluent which exhibit abundant membrane staining EGF-receptors, modulated activity without affecting In conclusion, this enlightens potential line model elucidating molecular mechanisms involved
