Sociodemographic and Lifestyle Factors are Associated with the Use of Dietary Supplements in a Korean Population

摘要: Objective: The use of dietary supplements has been increasing rapidly in Korea over the last decade. aim this study was to investigate associations between pattern supplement and sociodemographic/lifestyle characteristics Korean consumers.Methods: Participants were asked complete a self-administered questionnaire on their sociodemographic lifestyle characteristics, perceived health status, regular use.Results: A total 697 men 832 women completed questionnaire. Of respondents, 44.3% 53.2% used some kind regularly. Dietary users more likely be (P < 0.001), older than 50 years have higher household income = 0.003), engage moderate or vigorous physical activity 0.032), perceive themselves as healthy 0.026), received diagnosis chronic disease 0.001). In addition, type varied with respect factors. Among users, preferred ginseng, respondents carbohydrate less lipid supplements. Those who had lower BMI, ex-smokers, nondrinkers either vitamins minerals. highly active tended prefer vitamin/mineral complexes supplements.Conclusions: related factors population.
