摘要: The development of addiction is marked by a transition from recreational to uncontrolled drug use. Investigators modeling this phenomenon in rodents observed increases cocaine self-administration when conditions access were altered as well after abstinence. present studies designed extend research nonhuman primates examining whether the reinforcing strength could be changing availability or introducing abstinence periods. Rhesus monkeys self-administered (0.03-0.3 mg/kg per injection) under progressive-ratio (PR) schedule reinforcement evening sessions, with number injections earned serving measure strength. Alterations assessed additional fixed-ratio (FR) was provided morning sessions and following various periods (3, 7 14 days) regimens that resulted range intakes. Under baseline PR conditions, maximum increased dose-dependently, peaking 0.3 injection available. No any condition. In contrast, statistically significant decrease days one These results fail support views increasing enhances cocaine.
