摘要: Cell to matrix adhesion regulates cellular homeostasis in multiple ways. Integrin attachment the extracellular mediates this regulation through direct and indirect connections actin cytoskeleton, growth factor receptors, intracellular signal transduction cascades. Disruption of connection has deleterious effects on cell survival. It leads a specific type apoptosis known as anoikis most non-transformed types. Anchorage independent is critical step tumorigenic transformation cells. Thus, breaching barrier disrupts cell's defenses against transformation. This review examines recent investigations into molecular mechanisms illustrate current understanding important process.
