摘要: A case involving a fatal overdose of mexiletine is presented. Quantitation the drug was accomplished by gas chromatography with flame-ionization detector. The presence confirmed chromatography-mass spectrometry. Toxicological analysis revealed following tissue distribution mexiletine: heart blood, 44.8 micrograms/mL; femoral 10.0 vitreous, 8.6 liver, 171.6 micrograms/g; brain, 84.0 and gastric contents, 1464 mg.
