摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the development of fetal adrenals in nonhuman primates. The adrenal gland human fetus largely comprises a unique region, termed zone, that occupies majority cortex during life and regresses soon after birth. Similar temporary zones have been noted armadillos, lions, mice, rats. initial subdivision into an inner zone outer definitive occurs first trimester. Each arises from separate proliferation coelomic epithelium. aggregation epithelium week 4 when becomes distinct entity. Between months 2 3, rudimentary permanent appears as thin peripheral rim on surface preexisting cellular mass. cells with characteristics rapidly dividing stem cells. scanty cytoplasm contains free ribosomes; small, dense mitochondria few lamelliform cristae; not much lipid.
