摘要: ESR spectra of x‐irradiated single crystals KBrO3 show that the paramagnetic species previously identified as BrO3 has a large, nonaxial quadrupole interaction and nonparallel principal axes for g, A, Q tensors. These findings suggest signal should be assigned to BrO32− ion having Cs symmetry rather than BrO3. KNO3 doped with bromate ions exhibit from bromine‐containing cylindrical spin Hamiltonian analogous ClO3. We assign this Both assignments are supported by modified extended Huckel calculation field gradients densities at bromine nuclei BrO32−.
