摘要: The specific heat of a liquid varies as its structure and molecular vibrational frequencies vary with the temperature. We report magnitude structural or configurational part Cp,conf for five liquids by measuring their dynamic apparent heats, find that unrelaxed heat, equilibrium liquid, is not greatly different from nonequilibrium glass. Therefore, Cp,vib does change substantially when glass becomes an ultraviscous liquid. This contradicts inference there large sigmoid-shape (discontinuous) increase in kinetically unfreezes on heating above Tg, further 20%–50% net Cp at transition.
