摘要: Abstract A new inexpensive analytical system to analyze H2S in the exhaled breath is presented. The based on an acoustic wave sensor, employing a piezoelectric quartz crystal with chemical coating sensitive analyte (triethanolamine). paper addresses choice of and adsorbent used preconcentration column, as well optimization cell design, oscillator frequency counter. It includes also extensive study possible interferences its elimination. composed column water absorbents, allowed injection sample volumes 400 mL, which made reaching detection limits 50 ppb (v/v). This low limit, allied sensitivity 85.6 Hz/ppm, was effective discriminating healthy individuals from patients periodontal disease. levels 170 ppb (v/v) 1625 ppm were found samples. All showed lower than 255 ppb Patients known suffer some kind gum pathology presented wide range concentrations air, could only be explained after more clinical evaluation.
