摘要: The goal of the National Laboratory Gene Library Project at Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore Laboratories is production chromosome–specific human gene libraries their distribution to scientific community for studies molecular biology genes chromosomes, study diagnosis genetic disease. specific aim Phase I project complete digest (4 kb average insert size) from each 24 chromosomal types purified by flow sorting. bacteriophage vector Charon 21A, which has both Eco R1 Hind III insertion sites accommodating DNA fragments up 9.1 in size. Each laboratory undertaken a set libraries, with III; most this task now been accomplished. Close 1200 library aliquots have sent about 300 laboratories world–wide through February 1986, time repository functions were transferred American Type Culture Collection, Rockville, Md. Following I, we will begin construction large inserts more ad vanced, recently developed (about 20 inserts) or cosmid 40 inserts), characteristics better suited basic structure function.
