Retrograde genocephalic removal of fractured or immovable femoral stems in revision hip surgery

摘要: Revision arthroplasty for femoral stem breakage can be challenging. We report a new method the removal of distal segment performed in 6 cases between 2004 and 2008. After extracting proximal part component, canal was opened at knee joint modified intramedullary nail used to dislodge under fluoroscopic control. In five surgery uneventful. one case perforation occurred due contour cement mantle tip stem. postoperative period all patients progessed well. Removal broken using our has limited indications, it is not recommended septic or when an oblique contour. It also requires opening joint, but technique simple, saves surgical time selected does weaken femur.
