摘要: The paper presents the results of a research project aimed at developing an innovative system for modeling industrial products based on haptic technology. consists Computer Aided Design (CAD) enhanced with intuitive designer-oriented interaction tools and modalities. integrates six degrees freedom (DOF) digital shapes, sweep operators applied to class-A surfaces force computation models chip formation models. aims exploiting designers’ existing skills in products, improving design process by reducing necessity building several physical evaluating testing product designs. requirements have been defined observing designers during their daily work translating way they model shapes using hands craft into specifications tool. prototype has tested who found it effective use.
