摘要: The geochemical behaviour of mercury in sediments the Sao Joao de Meriti system (Guanabara bay watershed, Rio Janeiro, Brazil) was studied. Total concentrations were compared to sediment contents clay-silt, organic/inorganic carbon, total hydrolyzable amino acids (THAA) and specific acids, sulphur iron. A sequential extraction also used clear up some questions arising from concentration correlations. Results (0.32–3.38 mg Hg kg−1) show a contamination studied area by mercury, although levels are not high when other impacted areas around world. is closely linked organic matter. Good correlations found between indexes (organic nitrogen, acids), 95% present shown be matter (as indicated partitioning). On hand, no correlation sulphur, which explained very stable bonds
