摘要: Despite the much improved therapeutic approaches for cancer treatment that have been developed over past 50 years, remains a major cause of mortality globally. Considerable epidemiological and experimental evidence has demonstrated an association between ingestion food nutrients with either increased risk or its prevention. There is rising interest in exploring agents derived from natural products chemoprevention purposes. Honey rich nutritional non-nutritional bioactive compounds, as well antioxidants, potential beneficial function human health becoming more evident. A large number studies addressed anti-cancer effects different types honey their phenolic compounds using vitro vivo models. The reported findings affirm agent able to modulate oxidative stress anti-proliferative, pro-apoptotic, anti-inflammatory, immune-modulatory anti-metastatic properties. However, despite activities, very few clinical undertaken. In present review, we summarise approaches, including cell cultures, preclinical animal models studies, provide overview profile bioavailability most commonly studied types, special emphasis on chemopreventive properties cancer. implications these future prospects utilising fight will be discussed.
