摘要: Abstract Activation of T cells requires three signals from an antigen-presenting cell: antigen, Ia determinants ( HLA-D region in man), and interleukin 1 (IL-1). Recent evidence has suggested that macrophages, dendritic cells, epidermal Langerhan's endothelial can each function as (APC). If these cell types independently APC, they should synthesize secrete IL-1. To determine if fulfill requirements, we have propagated human umbilical vein by serial subculture for extended periods time assessed expression IL-1 secretion. The were subcultured 8 months (approximately 20 subcultures) found to display classic morphology immunofluorescent staining the cell-specific marker Factor VIII-related antigen. In a separate paper shown present antigen HLA - D region-restricted fashion (C. R. Wagner, M. Vetto, D. Burger, Subcultured fully competent accepted publication, Hum. Immunol ). this demonstrating extensively biosynthesize both HLA-DR HLA-DS molecules after exposure or supernatant antigen-activated cells. Evidence is also presented when are cultured presence lipopolysaccharide molecule(s) with activity assayed LBRM-33-IA5 line production 2.
