It has, however, improved considerably recent objective this study to evaluate and current, new optimised treatment strategies. PATIENTS AND METHODS We retrospectively analysed case histories course four patients whom we treated chondrosarcoma base over past 5 years at Freiburg Skull Base Centre. RESULTS Because initially mild symptoms, first came examination an advanced stage tumour. All underwent surgery, whereby R0-resection barely or only questionably present. Three radiation therapy postoperatively. are currently tumour free. CONCLUSIONS Surgical with curative intent basically choice. Due usually large size its close relationship relevant structures, complete resection is, not always possible despite advances surgical procedures. Taking possibility modern adjuvant radiotherapeutic procedures into account, incomplete, function-preserving preferred radical mutilating resection.
