摘要: Small pelagic fish can play an important role in various ecosystems linking lower and upper trophic levels. Among the factor behind observed inter-annual variations small abundance, intra- inter-specific interactions could have a strong impact on recruitment variability (e.g. anchovy). Egg cannibalism anchovies has been postulated to be mechanism that determines limit of population density self-regulates abundance species. On other hand, predation by guild species is commonly considered as regulation between competing This study provides empirical evidence anchovy main eggs estimates effect intraguild egg mortality rate. Results show that, depending year (2008–2009), up 33 % total was result sardine 4 % together with Atlantic Chub mackerel sprat. also indicate Bay Biscay, fluctuations survival index early life stages are likely attributable at least part especially high eggs.
