摘要: Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, which include some of the mostly widely prescribed drugs in United States, produce fewer adverse effects than other types antidepressants. But their use can be associated with disruption action antidiuretic hormone body, wreaks havoc homeostasis. This may lead to syndrome inappropriate secretion (SIADH), is characterized by hyponatremia, a potentially fatal condition that typically asymptomatic until it becomes severe. SIADH more likely populations, including people who are elderly or take diuretics. Serum sodium levels should monitored closely those at higher risk.
