摘要: Prostate cancer is one of the most commonly occurring malignancies in men, and because existing treatments are not able to manage this neoplasm adequately, novel approaches needed. Although tumor necrosis factor-related apoptosis-inducing ligand (TRAIL) has strong antitumor activity via induction apoptotic cell death a wide range types negligible toxicity normal cells, some prostate carcinoma cells resistant effects TRAIL. Therefore, combinatorial with TRAIL different chemotherapeutic agents have been developed overcome resistance Here, we investigated sensitizing ursolic acid (UA), pentacyclic triterpenoid found many plants, on TRAIL-induced apoptosis. We apoptosis was significantly enhanced by UA, that UA induced CHOP-dependent DR5 up-regulation. This study shows use as sensitizer for offers promising means enhancing efficacy TRAIL-based treatments.
