摘要: The effects of age, educational level, duration and course the disease, physical disability mood status on several cognitive functions (short- long-term memory, frontal functions, attention, language visuospatial skills) have been evaluated in 42 multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HDRS) scores a secondary progressive disease significantly influenced neuropsychological performance. Factorial analysis revealed that indexes (1) function impairment, (2) verbal memory (3) short- visuoperceptive impairment accounted for 85% variance Only first factor was related to presence depressive symptomatology, as assessed by HDRS. These results indicate both affective disorders must be taken into account when evaluating natural history MS suggest symptomatology dysfunction are involvement at least partially overlapping anatomofunctional circuits.
