Numerous intracystic floating balls as a sonographic feature of benign cystic teratoma: report of 5 cases.

摘要: Objective. The purpose of this series was to describe the unusual but unique sonographic pattern mature cystic teratoma. Methods. Five patients reproductive age with clinical manifestations a pelvic mass were evaluated sonography for treatment planning. Results. All 5 cases showed similar large tumor filled multiple echogenic spherical structures floating in background. Of patients, 3 had rather balls varying size between 1 and 4 cm same masses, whereas other 2 numerous smaller about 0.5 diameter. crowded very small last mimicked solid nodules representing malignancy. However, there no vascularization balls, which suggested benign nature. postoperative pathologic diagnosis teratoma without any malignant component all cases. Conclusions. feature intracystic is probably pathognomonic easily detected most Color Doppler helpful differentiating these (small balls) from tumors.
