摘要: Declining yields of maize as a result Striga infestation has necessitated new technology known Imazapyr-resistant (IRM) to contain the problem. As result, research and development initiatives with substantial participation private sector transfer this farmers have been made in western Kenya. This study therefore assesses adoption IRM variety efficiency levels A multi-stage sampling technique was used select total 600 households from Nyanza Western provinces for study. Tobit model stochastic production frontier analysis were analytical methods. Results show that age, education, gap, risk, contact extension agents, lack seeds, membership social group, effective pathway dissemination compatibility are variables found be significant (P<0.05) shaping decisions on whether adopt or not. The reveals mean technical sampled is 70% indicating some inefficiencies Also, significantly increased output (P<0.01); household size decreased inefficiency along farm size. It recommended efforts increase enhanced should focus farmers’ farming experience access information basic inputs.
