摘要: Salivary gland tumors (SGTs) comprise a group of rare neoplasms. Locally aggressive, recurrent and/or metastatic SGTs are notorious for their resistance to systemic therapy, making the need carefully designed, prospective and randomized trials with useful predictive markers mandatory define new effective therapeutic protocols. Histone Deacetylases (HDACs), thought play crucial role in carcinogenesis. They affect DNA structure, being also able regulate its transcription, repair, replication. This study aimed evaluate-to our knowledge first time-the HDAC-1, -2, -4 -6 immunohistochemical expression potential use as prognostic biomarkers. Medical records archival histopathological material 58 (36 benign 22 malignant) SGT patients were included this study. The H-score was statistically correlated clinicopathological characteristics all cases patients' survival rate malignant SGTs. HDAC-2 positivity significantly associated more prolonged overall (OS) (p = 0.028), while no HDAC-6 OS HG 0.003 p 0.043, respectively). Additionally, high longer 0.027). In study, is marker good prognosis, whereas indicated poor prognosis; thus, an inhibitor may be used improve survival.
