摘要: Epidemiologic studies of ulcerative colitis in western countries have shown that former smokers are at greater risk than those who never smoked, but current smoking and alcohol drinking habits appear to be inversely associated with the development this disease. The present case-control study examines whether these relations found among Japanese people, after adjustment for separate effects consumption. subjects were 384 patients first received financial aid treatment disease within 2-year period from April 1988 March 1990. From same public health centers, age- sex-matched paired controls selected randomly rosters persons attending checkup programs. Information on behavior use was obtained by self-administered questionnaires. Compared nonsmokers, increased suffering (odds ratio (OR) = 1.67, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.97-2.88); decreased (OR 0.30, CI 0.18-0.50); usual consumption reduced compared less frequent 0.57, 0.37-0.86). Significant dose-response observed between two factors In conclusion, both people exist independently consistent reported several previous outside Japan.
