摘要: BACKGROUND Inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD) are systemic conditions that commonly display extraintestinal manifestations. Inflammatory articular disease (IAD: axial or peripheral) is the most common manifestation. The aim of this study was to evaluate prevalence and clinical characteristics associated with IAD in patients IBD. METHODS We analyzed enrolled Swiss IBD cohort study. defined as persistent recurrent joint pain an inflammatory pattern (night pain, progressive relief during day, morning stiffness lasting at least 30 minutes) presence arthritis diagnosed by physicians. A multivariate logistic regression performed analyze which were independently IAD. RESULTS A total 2353 IBD, 1359 Crohn's disease, 994 ulcerative colitis (UC) included. Forty-four percent fulfilled criteria for IAD, whereas 14.5% presented other female sex, older age, generally more active intestinal disease. Only UC, further tobacco smoking increasing body mass index. CONCLUSIONS This population displays a high IAD. strongly than UC. Other risk factors advanced digestive consumption interesting given established association between arthritides.
