摘要: The human gut harbours a tremendously diverse and abundant microbial community that correlates with, even modulates, many health-related processes. mucosal interfaces are particularly active sites of microorganism-host interplay. Growing insight into the characteristic composition functionality microbiota has revealed is involved in barrier integrity immune function. This involvement affects proinflammatory anti-inflammatory processes not only at epithelial level, but also remote such as joints. Here, we review role shaping local systemic responses how disturbances host-microorganism interplay can potentially affect development progression rheumatic diseases. Increasing our understanding to promote homeostasis could therefore reveal novel strategies for prevention or alleviation disease.
