摘要: Tunneled dialysis catheters (TDC) are extensively used for long-term venous hemodialysis access and their use is frequently associated with infectious complications. Catheter-related bacteremia (CRB) the most common important infection TDC may be caused by a wide variety of Gram-positive or Gram-negative organisms. Prevention CRB can difficult despite rigorous infection-control techniques catheter insertion access. A number antibacterial catheter-packing solutions hold promise reduction CRB. Treatment antibiotics alone yields poor results increase risk other complications, especially endocarditis. In selected cases where initial control achieved antibiotics, guidewire exchange in cure rates equivalent to those removal subsequent replacement. Dialysis programs should monitor infections attention incidence, bacteriology, outcomes.
