The development of the effect of peer monitoring on generosity differs among elementary school-age boys and girls.

摘要: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect peer monitoring on generosity in boys and girls aged 6 - 12 years. A total 120 elementary school students played a one-shot dictator game (DG) with without by classmates. Children decided how divide 10 chocolates between themselves classmate either condition which their allocations were visible peers, or private. While allocation amount DG clearly present boys, it not observed girls. Furthermore, appeared at age 9 These results suggest that motivation draw peers’ attention plays stronger role for older than younger boys. potential roles higher-order theory mind, social roles, emergence secondary sex characteristics influence shown are discussed.
