摘要: Safely prescribing medications to older dermatology patients is a complicated task. The practitioner likely encounter several age-related challenges when adult patients. These might not be common in younger populations. First, pertinent physiologic changes that can cause affect differently are overviewed. Next, psychosocial and ethical factors impact practices discussed. Then, different types of medication errors occur described. Many these errors, such as polypharmacy, anticipated by applying geropharmacologic principles. Other underprescription, seem counterintuitive. concepts synthesized into evidence-based strategies for adults, areas research gaps then highlighted. Practical examples potential pitfalls also provided. Complementary therapies, which increasingly being used adults interact with dermatologic or even problems, briefly outlined.
