Recent Trends in Standards Related to the Internet of Things and Machine-to-Machine Communications

摘要: One of major purposes these standard technologies is to ensure interoperability between entities from different vendors and enable interworking various technologies. As are essential for machine-to-machine communications (M2M) Internet Things (IoT) them achieve their ultimate goal, i.e., things be connected each other, multiple standards organizations now working on development M2M/IoT related specifications. This paper reviews the current activities some most relevant standardization bodies in area M2M IoT: third-generation partnership project (3GPP) core radio network aspects, broadband forum, oneM2M. The features issues being focused upon summarized. Finally, key common trends among identified: a service layer platform, new mitigating an explosive growth traffic, considerations efforts device management
