摘要: Locally advanced oral cancers extending to infratemporal fossa (ITF) are a challenge head and neck surgeons. These tumors classified as T4b whenever the masticator space (MS), pterygoid muscles (PM), plates (PP) involved according AJCC classification. Until recently, these were considered inoperable treated only with palliative intent. However, few studies in last decade showed that many of could be resected reasonably favorable prognosis by compartment resection ITF, particularly when tumor was below sigmoid notch mandible. A attempted downstage neo-adjuvant chemotherapy before attempting resection. Oral Squamous cell carcinoma has high prevalence South India. Majority patients females addicted tobacco quid chewing present locally disease. In this retrospective analysis, we evaluated outcome treatment squamous ITF staged 52 patients. All underwent Composite including followed adjuvant treatment. 20 had received chemotherapy. Pectoralis major myocutaneous flap mainstay reconstruction. After mean follow-up 2 years, 31 alive disease free. 14 local recurrence 2 recurred cervical nodes. 8 died due 6 on care. Neo-adjuvant did not benefit outcome. Close margins resection, extra nodal spread from lymph nodes supra involvement posterior part factors which predisposed recurrence.
