Unusual spin-glass phase in icosahedral Tb-Mg-Zn quasicrystals

摘要: The nature of the spin state below freezing temperature was studied in an icosahedral Tb-Mg-Zn quasicrystal by thermoremanent dc magnetization time decay as a function aging and magnetic field. system does not exhibit highly degenerate free-energy landscape obeying ultrametric organization metastable states, which makes it essentially different from canonical glasses. can be considered special class glass, possesses some local order, but still preserves notion freezing.
