摘要: This paper discusses some of the impacts attributed to climate change that are likely hit Southern Africa as a result increasing global greenhouse gas emissions into atmosphere. As South is significant contributor and currently ranked first in Africa, assesses country.s profile possible future projections their implications. It then strategic interventions proposed by reducing gap between what required science would happen if development continues at current rates without abating emissions. Given majority energy consumption, provides practical solutions themes such efficiency mostly for industrial commercial sectors. With international treaties on reduction (e.g. Kyoto protocol), there business opportunities area mitigation. Thus, finally Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) scenario how country can benefit from other emission trading schemes being practiced different regions world.
