摘要: Context Anemia and thyroid dysfunction often co-occur both increase with age. Human data on the relationship between disease anemia are scarce. Objective To investigate cross-sectional longitudinal associations clinical status anemia. Design Individual participant meta-analysis. Setting Sixteen cohorts participating in Thyroid Studies Collaboration (n=42 162). Main outcome measures Primary measure was (hemoglobin <130 g/L men <120 women). Results Cross-sectionally, participants abnormal had an increased risk of having compared euthyroid (overt hypothyroidism, pooled odds ratio 1.84 [95% CI: 1.35-2.50], subclinical hypothyroidism 1.21 [1.02-1.43], hyperthyroidism 1.27 [1.03-1.57], overt 1.69 [1.00-2.87]). Hemoglobin levels were lower all groups to euthyroidism. In analyses (n=25,466 from 14 cohorts), hazard for development 1.38 0.86-2.20] 1.18 [1.00-1.38] 1.15 [0.94-1.42] 1.47 [0.91-2.38] hyperthyroidism. Sensitivity excluding medication or high C-reactive protein yielded similar results. No differences mean annual change hemoglobin observed hormone groups. Conclusion Higher hypothyroid function hyperthyroid function. addition, reduced at baseline showed a trend developing during follow-up. It remains be assessed randomized controlled trial whether treatment is effective reducing anemia.
