Avaliação farmacognóstica de geoprópolis de Melipona fasciculata Smith da Baixada maranhense, Brasil

摘要: Melipona fasciculata Smith is a native, social, stingless bee species that produces wax, honey and geopropolis. This work aimed to do pharmacological evaluation of geopropolis, collected in beehives the municipal districts Arari, Sao Bento Joao Batista, Baixada maranhense, state Maranhao, Brazil, seeking obtain basis for quality control standardization product. The methodology used included accomplishment sensorial analyses, chemical approach, chromatographic profiles determination flavonoids contents. results demonstrate geopropolis have organoleptic characteristics similar ones found propolis Apis mellifera, presence phenolic compounds larger concentration, besides substances class terpenes saponins absence alkaloids. indicated composition concentration are different among samples. contents ranged between 0.17 - 2.6%. content most samples presented values above minimum demanded by Brazilian legislation mellifera. data suggest qualitative quantitative variations other strongly affected flora visited bees, geographical area environmental factors.
