Stakeholder participation in IPBES: connecting local environmental work with global decision making

摘要: The Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services(IPBES) strengthens the science-policy interface by producing scientific assessments biodiversity ecosystem services to inform policy. IPBES fosters knowledge exchange across disciplines, between researchers other holders, practitioners, societal actors decision makers working at different geographic scales. A number of avenues for participation stakeholders four functions if exist. Stakeholders come from diverse backgrounds, including Indigenous Peoples local communities, businesses, non-governmental organization. They represent multiple sources information, data, knowledge, perspectives biodiversity. Stakeholder engagement in seeks 1. communicate, disseminate, implement findings products; 2. Develop guidelines conservation within member countries; 3. create linkages global policy - all key implementation agreements This paper reflects role first work programme (2014-2018). It provides an overview processes products relevant stakeholders, examines motivation engage with IPBES, explores reflections authors (all active participants platform) improved stakeholder contributions future platform.
